What actually makes a sesame exporter reliable?

Not the adjective. A reliable counterparty is one whose claims you can check before you pay, and whose obligations are written down before the price is agreed. Everything else is a word on a website, and the word is free.

That distinction matters more in this trade than most, because the barrier to publishing a convincing exporter website is close to zero, while the cost of a first container going wrong is not. Can you verify AgroMax independently?

Yes, in about two minutes, and without contacting us. AgroMAX Limited is incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission under RC 9745814, incorporated 5 August 2026, and that number is searchable by name or number in the CAC public register. We are registered with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council as an exporter under certificate 0045234, valid to 25 August 2028, verifiable on the NEPC portal.

Neither number is ours to issue and neither requires our cooperation to check. That is the point of quoting them: a claim you can verify without the claimant is a different kind of evidence from a claim you cannot.

The people are named too. Both directors have a bio page on this site rather than appearing as an anonymous team, and the same names appear on the byline of every guide we publish.

What do you put in writing before quoting?

Four things, settled before a price is issued rather than after:

• —The specification — grade, purity, moisture, admixture, oil content or FFA where relevant, and the destination's applicable limits
• —The Incoterm — FOB Lagos as standard, CFR or CIF to main ports on request
• —The payment term — 30% advance with 70% against an irrevocable letter of credit at sight, or 100% by irrevocable L/C at sight from a recognised bank, by mutual agreement
• —The inspection basis — which agency, at whose option, and at whose cost

What happens if a shipment misses the agreed specification?

Neither side's in-house laboratory result decides it. We contract on FOSFA terms, under which the seed is warranted to meet the agreed specification at the time and place of shipment, and the binding result comes from the contract's sampling and analysis clause — samples drawn and sealed at loading, analysed by FOSFA member analysts, sealed sets retained on both sides against arbitration.

The reason to agree that before a dispute rather than during one is that a remedy invented after a cargo is rejected tends to favour whoever is holding the money. Tell us the basis you normally trade on and we will contract on it.

What documents travel with the shipment?

Certificate of analysis from an independent laboratory, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation certificate, packing list, commercial invoice and bill of lading — couriered ahead of the vessel or telex-released, as the contract provides. Where a letter of credit is involved, its document list and the contract's are reconciled before the credit is issued rather than after the vessel sails.

Any of these can be requested as a specimen before you contract, and a split sample can be sent to a laboratory you nominate rather than one we choose.

What we do not claim

This section exists because its absence elsewhere is the most useful thing you can notice about a supplier website.

We do not publish buyer testimonials. We cannot verify them, you cannot verify them, and the competitor pages currently ranking above us on these searches carry testimonials from buyers in three continents that no reader can check. We do not publish monthly capacity figures or tonnages shipped. We do not publish certifications we do not hold — the quality certificates we would like to show are ones a company earns over time, and we will publish them when they exist and not before.

Where something on this site is inference rather than a verified fact, our guides say so in the text. The compliance guide flags which limits are read from the instrument and which are not. The China page states plainly that we are not registered or recommended under the Chinese quarantine regime, and flags one requirement as likely rather than confirmed. A supplier willing to tell you the boundary of what it knows is telling you something about the rest of its claims.

How do I test any of this before committing?

In the order a first trade actually happens:

1. 01Check RC 9745814 in the CAC register and 0045234 on the NEPC portal — neither needs us
2. 02Send a specification, or ask for ours, and see whether the reply engages with your limits or with adjectives
3. 03Ask for a pre-shipment sample and have it analysed wherever you choose
4. 04Agree the payment term and the sampling and analysis basis in writing before a price is fixed
5. 05Book one 20ft FCL. A first container is the only test that settles anything, and it is why our minimum order is one

How current is this page?

The registration numbers were read off the certificates themselves and are independently verifiable at the two registries linked below; the NEPC certificate is valid to 25 August 2028 and this page must be corrected when it lapses. The payment terms are the owner's, as at 10 September 2026, and are commercial terms that can change.
